Our goal is for a safe public transportation system.
We provide construction and maintenance of roads & bridges.
The Road and Bridge Department has 15 employees.
We currently take care of a total of 230 miles of County roads. In addition seven Townships have been turned over to the county commissioners to be the trustees on the following townships and the miles are:
- Covert-33 ¾ miles
- Grant-38 1/2 miles
- Hancock-36 miles
- Hawkeye-40 miles
- Independence-33 ½ miles
- Sumner-59 miles
- Winfield-19 ½ miles
The Highway Department takes care of:
- 62 FAS bridges
- 161 OFF SYSTEM bridges
- 577 under twenty (20) foot drainage structures
